Doon Academy has an active Burns Club and takes part in numerous Burns activities.

On Thursday 22nd May 2008 , 10am – 12 noon 1pm – 2.30pm, as part of the Burns an’ a’ that festival, Doon Academy will be hosting ‘Burns by Bonnie Doon’ at Doon Valley Museum.
This event is also linked to the Doon Learning Partnership and the P7 Literacy and Numeracy Day.

At ‘Burns by Bonnie Doon’ S1/2 pupils together with primary school pupils will be working with Geoff Forrest, a local willow artist, to make 18th century willow platters. Also they will be listening to a talk on Robert Burns and taking part in a quiz on his life and works. This is the 4th year of ‘Burns by Bonnie Doon’ and is really enjoyed by everyone who takes part in the event.
